Mountain Bike Colombia – MTB Adventure Booking Policy #
At Mountain Bike Colombia, we are excited to share the thrill of wilderness mountain biking in Colombia with our guests. Please review our booking policy to ensure a smooth and memorable experience.
Booking Process
– To reserve your spot, visit our website or contact our booking team directly, via our website chat, email, or by phone.
– Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive an email containing important details, including the itinerary, packing list, and payment instructions.
Payment Terms
– A per-person reservation deposit, listed on each adventure page, secures your booking. It is non-refundable if you cancel 60 days or less before the trip reservation date.
– The remaining balance is due upon check-in for the adventure in Colombia. Payments can be made via credit card (with a 5% service fee) or in cash, with a 5% discount for payments in COP to offset exchange costs.
Cancellation Policy
Trip Deposit:
– All deposits are non-refundable 60 before the adventure unless we are forced to cancel due to circumstances beyond our control. However, if we are forced to cancel or a cancellation request is received 60 days before the adventure start date, a full refund will be issued or you may choose to transfer your deposit to another adventure or kept on account for a future trip within the same calendar year.
Travel/Cancellation Insurance:
– We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect against financial loss due to cancellation or unforeseen events.
Cancellation by Mountain Bike Colombia:
– In the rare event of a cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., war, natural disasters, or political unrest), participants will receive a full refund of the trip deposit paid and a free deposit credit for a future Mountain Bike Colombia adventure.
Cancellation Communication:
– All cancellation requests must be submitted via email to info@mountainbikecolombia.com at least 60 days before the trip’s scheduled departure.
Trip Modifications
– Mountain Bike Colombia reserves the right to adjust itineraries, routes, or accommodations due to factors beyond our control, such as weather, wildlife behavior, or community availability. This is particularly relevant for our Amazon adventures, where conditions like water levels, wildlife activity, and weather often dictate plans.
– These adjustments ensure a safe, seamless, and high-quality experience while adding a unique and unpredictable element to each adventure.
Participant Requirements
– Participants must meet the minimum age and skill level requirements for the selected adventure.
– A reasonable level of fitness is required, and participants should be prepared for physical challenges. For Amazon adventures, comfort with occasional discomfort is essential.
– Prior mountain biking experience is recommended but not always mandatory, depending on the trip.
– All participants are required to sign a Release of Liability form upon arrival in Colombia before starting the adventure.
Safety and Liability
– Safety is our top priority. Participants must follow safety guidelines and the instructions of our experienced guides at all times.
– Mountain biking involves inherent risks. By booking, participants acknowledge and accept these risks.
– We encourage obtaining travel insurance that includes medical coverage, trip cancellation, and other unforeseen events.
Code of Conduct
– Respect for local communities, wildlife, and the natural environment is expected at all times.
– Participants are encouraged to engage in sustainable and ethical travel practices, minimizing their impact on fragile ecosystems and cultural sites.
– An attitude of gratitude, patience, and flexibility is essential, especially when navigating the unique challenges of wilderness adventures in remote and pristine environments.
