Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations by You

Amazon Expedition

No refunds. Once your space is confirmed and deposit received, all payments are non-refundable regardless of when you cancel.

Amazon logistics — guide contracts, boat arrangements, community coordination, supply procurement, and moving people and materials into remote areas — are committed months in advance and cannot be recovered. This applies at any point after confirmation.

All Other Rides and Multi-Day Adventures

More than 60 days before departure: Your deposit is fully refunded. No questions asked.

60 days or fewer before departure: No refund. By this point, MBC has committed funds to guides, accommodations, transport, community arrangements, equipment, and suppliers on your behalf.

How to Cancel

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to marcel@mountainbikecolombia.com or via your original booking confirmation channel. Include your name, tour, and departure date. Verbal cancellations are not accepted.

What Is Never Refunded

Regardless of timing, no refund applies for:

• No-shows or late arrivals
• Missed flights or travel disruptions
• Voluntary withdrawal during an expedition
• Removal from an activity for safety, conduct, fitness, or behavioral reasons
• Failure to carry required documents (passport, ID, waiver)
• Failure to disclose medical conditions that affect your participation
• Failure to follow guide instructions

Cancellations or Changes by MBC

We reserve the right to modify, reroute, postpone, or cancel any activity for safety, weather, security, community, or operational reasons. These decisions are judgment calls, not failures. Expedition travel in Colombia requires flexibility — that is part of what makes it real.

If MBC cancels before departure for reasons within our control, we will offer a refund, credit, or alternative departure. We are not responsible for non-refundable flights, accommodation, visas, vaccinations, gear purchases, insurance premiums, or other third-party costs.

We never cancel unless we have to.

Travel and Medical Insurance

MBC strongly recommends — and for multi-day, remote, and Amazon expeditions may require — that all participants carry their own travel insurance, medical insurance, and emergency evacuation coverage before arrival. MBC does not provide participant insurance. Your policy should cover mountain biking, remote-area rescue, trip cancellation, and Colombia travel specifically. Confirm your exclusions before you book.
